Winter is the floating AI pill at the bottom right of every authenticated page in TrailerCast. He answers questions about the product, queries your data, and now ships in two flavors: the global pill and per-page tabs.

What Winter knows

The product itself

Features, settings, troubleshooting. Winter can answer “how do I rebuild a trailer?” without you reading these docs.

Your data

Every demo, call, transcript, summary, deal brief, comment, conversation. Ask “how many demos have I uploaded this month?” or “what was the verdict on my last call with Acme Corp?”

Your AI Personalization context

Industry, ICP, value props, pain points. Winter grounds answers in your specific business context.

The recording you're looking at

On a call detail or demo detail page, Winter automatically scopes its answer to that recording, no need to spell out which call.

Two ways to use Winter

1. The global pill

Bottom right of every page. Click to open a chat panel. Use cases:
  • Quick how-to questions
  • Cross-cutting data queries (“which prospects have rewatched my pricing slide more than 3 times?”)
  • Drafting follow-up email language
Page-aware context: when you’re on a call detail or demo detail page, Winter automatically attaches that recording’s id and uses it as grounding. So “summarize the key takeaways” works without you spelling out which call you mean.

2. The per-page tab

Every call detail and demo detail page has a dedicated Ask Winter tab in the right rail. Use cases:
  • Long Q&A about one specific recording
  • Iterative drafting (multiple rounds of “make it more direct”)
  • Conversations that should persist if you refresh the page
Persistence model:
  • Within the session: switch tabs, refresh the page, your conversation history stays.
  • Between recordings: switch to a different demo and it starts fresh (no leak).
  • After closing the tab: history clears.

Things Winter is good at

QuestionWhat Winter does
”Summarize the key takeaways”Pulls AI summary, writes a 3-bullet recap
”What were the main objections raised?”Quotes the prospect verbatim where possible
”Draft a follow-up email”Uses engagement data + your AI Personalization to angle the message
”How does my Q2 win rate compare to Q1?”Queries your data, returns numbers
”Find me demos where we discussed pricing”Searches transcripts
”What’s the qualification verdict on Acme?”Reads the AI summary verdict

Things Winter is NOT good at

  • Long-form creative writing. Use the Generate Follow-Up Message modal instead, it’s optimized for that.
  • Predicting the future. Winter answers from your data; it doesn’t forecast deals.
  • Cross-customer benchmarks. Strict tenant isolation. Winter only sees YOUR company’s data.
  • Real-time data fetches from your CRM. CRM integrations are read-mostly; Winter sees what’s been synced, not live data.

Suggested prompts

The chat panel shows suggested prompts the first time you open it. They’re context-aware: On a demo trailer:
  • “Summarize the demo in 3 bullets”
  • “What features got the most engagement?”
  • “Draft a follow-up email I can send to the prospect”
On a qualifying call:
  • “Summarize the key takeaways in 3 bullets”
  • “What were the main objections raised?”
  • “What action items did we agree to?”
Generic:
  • “What’s the verdict on my last 3 qualifying calls?”
  • “Which prospect has rewatched my trailer the most?”
  • “Show me demos where pricing came up”

Cost

You don’t pay anything extra for Winter. It’s included in every plan. We use Anthropic Claude under the hood; usage is bounded by hard caps so a runaway question can’t exhaust your budget.

Privacy + data

Same rules as the rest of TrailerCast:
  • Winter never sees data from other companies (strict tenant isolation)
  • Winter’s queries don’t train Anthropic’s models
  • Conversation history is client-side only (sessionStorage); we don’t persist it server-side for V1
See Privacy & Security for details.
